Review AIC Requirements
Gather Required Documents
  • University transcript (sent directly from university) – confirming 2 years post secondary education
  • Proof of Successful Completion – AIC 101
  • Proof of Successful Completion – AIC ITPP
  • Proof of Successful Completion BUSI 330
Submit Forms and Documents
Dues and Fees
  • NBAREA application fee-$75+ HST
  • AIC membership fee-$100+HST
  • AIC criminal record check-$30+HST
  • NBAREA dues and fees-$635+HST
Liability Insurance
  • Receive confirmation of AIC membership
  • Arrange Professional Liability Insurance
  • Forward Certificate of Insurance to NBAREA
  • Receive confirmation of NBAREA membership

Review CNAREA Requirements
Submit Forms and Documents
  • Submit NBAREA Application Form
  • Provide proof of membership in good standing with CNAREA
  • Provide proof of professional liability insurance ($2 million)
Dues and Fees
  • NBAREA Application Fee – $75 + HST
  • NBAREA Dues/Fees – $635 + HST
Registration with NBAREA
  • Recive Confirmation of NBAREA membership
  • Complete Appraising in NB within 12 months after becoming registered

Application Process – Appraisers from other provinces/countries

  • Submit NBAREA Application Form
  • Confirmation of membership in good standing with one of the following:
      • Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC)
      • Canadian National Association o Real Estate Appraisers (CNAREA),
      • Appraisal Institute (US),
      • L’Ordre des évaluateurs agréés du Québec, or
    • Proof of Professional Liability Insurance coverage of at least $2 million (CAD)

  • Application fee – $75 + HST
  • NBAREA Registration fees ($635 + HST)
NBAREA Registration
  • Receive confirmation of NBAREA membership
  • Complete Appraising in NB webinar within 12 months after becoming registered

Application Process – Former NBAREA members

Reinstate Designation and Professional Liability Insurance
  • Submit NBAREA Application Form
  • Complete reinstatement requirements to become member in good standing (including any continuing education requirements and payment of fees) with one of the following:
      • Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC)
      • Canadian National Association o Real Estate Appraisers (CNAREA),
      • Appraisal Institute (US), or
      • L’Ordre des évaluateurs agréés du Québec
  • Obtain Professional Liability Insurance coverage of at least $2 million (CAD) and forward certificate to NBAREA (info@nbarea.org)

  • Application fee – $75 + HST
  • NBAREA Registration fees ($635 + HST)
